simplicity pattern jessica apron two

Jessica Apron Two Fabric

I’m getting ready for a trip to Indianapolis in a couple of weeks.  At Christmas, I bought my daughter, Jessica, two apron patterns, and we went out shopping for fabric.  My sister found the appliance fabric, which is so adorable.  Just perfect for this project.  Here’s the pattern and fabric for the second apron.  Needless to say, I’m a little behind schedule.  I have all the pieces cut out.  I’m crazy about the fabrics for this apron.  It should go much quicker this time, because there’s no bib.

simplicity vintage apron patternI just love that pattern makers are bringing back vintage patterns from the 1940’s, 1950’s and 1960’s.  There are such interesting choices, some dating back to the late 1800’s.

This pattern (View B) has patch pockets on the front, but I’m going to make side inseam pockets instead out of the red and white polka dot fabric.  And I got turquoise rick rack to outline the zigzag seam on the lower half of the apron.

Isn’t the ruffled apron so cute?

Wish me luck, and stay tuned as I progress through my next sewing project.
